Orlando Herrera

Orlando Herrera’s music career started in 1980 while still a student in school in Freer, Texas. His father, Oscar Herrera, had several bands throughout the years, so naturally Orlando was always around music. He began playing drums and singing harmonies and vocals professionally when he was 13 years old with his dad in his band, Oscar Herrera & the Texas Rebel Band, a band who opened for Nashville country stars such as Johnny Rodriguez, Janie Fricke, George Jones, Asleep at the Wheel, Johnny Paycheck, Boxcar Willie, and many others at the Yellow Rose in Corpus Christi, Texas. Orlando’s musical talent comes from his grandmother’s side of the family on my dad’s side the Sandovals, who have been musicians from as far back as the 1900s.

Orlando is proud to be a member of the Five Card Draw Band, and when they are off, he performs acoustic shows playing acoustic guitar in the surrounding areas like San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and the Valley. He has always had a passion for music and singing and will continue as long as God permits him to.

Nicholas VanWay

Nicholas VanWay, AKA “the Duke of Dinero,” was raised in Dinero, Texas. He has been playing music since the age of five years old, beginning with piano, then on to guitar; and in 2020, he picked up the steel guitar. After a few years, he found his way into being the steel player for Five Card Draw, and the rest is history. On most weekends, you can find him on stage with “The Cards.”

Alfred Tumlinson

Alfred Tumlinson established Five Card Draw in 1986, and the band is often called “The Best Deal in Country Music” – and they are just that. This talented country band has been pleasing enthusiastic two-steppers with live dance music for over 35 years and has opened for many popular country music stars such as George Strait, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Jon Wolfe, Rich O’Toole, Brad Paisley, Pat Green, Great Divide, Cory Morrow, Radney Foster, Gary P. Nunn, Steve Wariner, Charlie Daniels, George Jones, Trisha Yearwood, Pam Tillis, John Anderson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ronnie Milsap, Mark Chestnutt, Ricochet, Bellamy Brothers, Wade Hayes and Big ; Rich, to name a few.

Five Card Draw stays on top of contemporary country trends as well as some well-tuned country classics & classic rock & roll. Bandleader Alfred Tumlinson grew up listening to country music by Merle Haggard, George Jones & Bob Wills. Alfred has been involved in numerous choirs including church & school.
