Lee Ann Dye Barker

Lee Ann Dye Barker was born into the fifth generation of a storied south Texas ranching family, who pride themselves in loving God and eachother. She was put on a horse before she could walk, because in the world of ranching in the brush country, that was the safest place for a youngster.

The great granddaughter of Rocky Reagan, the granddaughter of Bob Reagan, and the daughter of Jenny Bess Reagan, it’s fair to say she had some big boots to fill. Lee grew up riding drag, waiting for the day when she was the last one dropped off to sweep the pasture (because if you were the last one left, that meant you got to ride with great daddy, the man many know as Mr. Rocky).

In those moments, she learned to be tough, to work hard, and what it meant to be honest and fair. Lee learned what it meant to be a cowgirl and a lady, all in one, and she took those lessons to heart.

After 28 years as an educator and Coach, Lee has recently pursued her lifelong calling and begun her journey as a preacher. Her background in ranching goes beyond coming up in a family of ranchers. If you ask her, she'll gladly tell you she thinks it comes down to genetics; that it’s in her DNA. Regardless what her pursuit in life has been, she's made sure to always have at least a handful of cattle to run on pastures that have been handed down through generations.

Lee reflects fondly upon the storytelling culture cultuvated by her great grandfather and other brush country storytellers, and brought to the attention of the public by J. Frank Dobie, and remembers time spent with her cousins as "a bunch of brush country kiddos sitting hanging on [Rocky Reagan's] every word, letting our imaginations run wild, and realizing we had the best God ever gave to anyone to guide us, and help bring us up with love for our families, the cattle we raised, the land we took care of, and the chance to do it.
